Nattika Beach, Thrissur

Natikka is an idyllic long-term beach getaway that remains quiet and secluded almost always. There are no facilities for watersports, so you can minus the crowd and multiply the serenity. Plus the water is safe for swimming and there are lifeguards just in case. You can even go exploring the place on an elephant.

Nattikas highlight is its predominantly rural atmosphere that blends beautifully with the resorts. In contrast to its rural ambiance, the resorts come with all modern facilities that will let you enjoy the pleasures of the affluent by being attended to by friendly hospitable staff eager to spoil you. Apart from that, they offer matchless views of the Arabian Sea and the fishermen boats scattered all over the water competing for the largest catch. You must also definitely pamper yourself with an ayurvedic massage where you will feel all your worries fade away with the gentle strokes of the masseur.

If you can drag yourself away from the Beach, there are few places around for excursion. Beginning with the Guruvayur Temple, which is never missed by tourist, both from abroad and from within. It is one of the most sacred pilgrim centers of Kerala. In its outer enclosure (chuttambalam) there stands a 33.5 m tall gold plated flag post (Dwajasthambam). The idol of the God to which the temple is dedicated, Sree Krishna is kept at the inner square. And if you want to acquaint yourself with the cultural wealth of Kerala then do visit the Kerala Kalamandalam where several performing arts are shown. There are quite a number of art centres close to the resorts also. And if you have time to get to Thrissur, you can visit the heritage museum. You will find it most informative. You can combine this with a little shopping expedition for spices or dry fruits.
